THE ACCIDENTAL COUNSELLOR TRAINING – A Solution Focused Approach
For school staff not trained as counsellors but often find themselves in counselling situations by accident.
Learn how to connect and influence without burning out.
The Accidental Counsellor Training is a full day program for school staff who are not qualified as clinical counsellors but often respond to emotional upset and distress of students, parents or colleagues.
This training will provide you with the step by step frameworks so you can listen and respond appropriately.
THE ACCIDENTAL COUNSELLOR TRAINING will focus around 3 core themes:
- Wellbeing and self care so you are not burdened by the stories of pain and upset you hear.
- Connection – so you listen in a way that acknowledges, validates the person you are listening to.
- Influence – so you can ask solution focused questions to help the person identify their next best step.
As an Accidental Counsellor a focus on self care is essential because it allows you to connect to the stories of pain and suffering you hear from the people you support.
It’s with this deep connection that safety and trust increases and this allows the person to “hold” onto the Solution Focused Communication you will use to help influence them in taking action on their “next best step”.
Areas covered in the training include:
– Evidence based Wellbeing strategies from the field of Positive Psychology
– Connection processes including reflective listening and the Perception Process
– How to influence using Solution Focused Communication
– and much more!
The Accidental Counsellor has been conducted all over Australia and New Zealand for 10 years, (now for the first time in Singapore) receiving stellar reviews from all in attendance. Book your spot now to ensure you don’t miss out.
